If you have visited McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH), you have probably seen the car parked in the main lobby. The vehicle is a wonderful symbol of Acura of Hamilton’s support of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation’s Care4 cause marketing program.
Care4 is an innovative fundraising partnership that empowers businesses to demonstrate social responsibility by making a financial commitment on behalf of their customers to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.
“One of the things we were looking for is to have some kind of connection to the community and the Care4 program seemed to be a good fit for us,” says Louis Iaquinto, General Manager and Dealer Principal, Acura of Hamilton.
Acura of Hamilton is one of the inaugural Care4 partners. For each new vehicle sold or leased, Acura makes a donation to Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. Since 2011, nearly $350,000 has been contributed.
While Acura’s initial support focused on MCH and Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (JHCC), they expanded their support to include highest priority needs across all of The Foundation’s supported hospital sites beginning in 2015.
Iaquinto had a simple but powerful motivation for continuing to support The Foundation after nearly six years in the program.
“The reason the Care4 program is important to the community is because sooner or later, we’re all going to need quality health care.”
Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation is very grateful for Acura of Hamilton’s ongoing support and looks forward to their continued partnership.
The Foundation encourages the community to visit the dealership at 1515 Upper James Street in Hamilton to show thanks for Acura’s commitment to transforming health care across south-central Ontario. Special employee discounts are available for Hamilton Health Sciences employees. If you’re an employee at HHS, you can find more information by clicking here.
