Going green for Mental Health Week

You may have noticed the wave of green that has washed over social media sites like Twitter and Facebook this past week. All the green lights, t-shirts and posters you see are in support of Mental Health Week.

In Ontario, one in five children and youth struggle with mental health concerns. Our inpatient and outpatient child and youth mental health services offer a variety of supports to youth with mental health issues and their families every day. But sometimes it’s important to shine a brighter light on their challenges.

To celebrate Mental Health Week, patients, families and staff in the Child and Youth Mental Health Program at McMaster Children’s Hospital shared their perspectives on mental health by drawing and writing messages on paper cut-outs.
